Buttermilk Creek Park

Buttermilk Creek Park is a new addition to our city parks and amenities are being added gradually. The parcel was acquired in 2003 and park development began in 2015. Located behind the Post Office on Ferry Street, the park features a beautiful natural setting around Buttermilk Creek and the grassy slope from Dowling hill. Buttermilk Creek Park features a nature trail, 3 picnic tables, a fire pit, a sledding hill, ice skating rink with stadium lighting, and a warming shed for winter activities. The shed also holds assorted donated items for the public to use for winter sports at the park such as, ice skates in various sizes, sleds, snowboards, and brooms and nets for broomball.

Buttermilk Creek Park is a protected area designated for natural resource recreation with a conservation easement held by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

There is accessible parking on the east side of the park, behind the White Lake Senior Center. The nearest accessible public restroom is at Montague City Hall, lower level, at 8778 Ferry Street.

Coming Soon in 2023: an inclusively designed, accessible redo of the nature trail!
