Boat Launch
The Municipal Boat Launch & Fish Cleaning Station is located south of the stop light on Water Street past the marina and Band Shell, the ramp has three docks serving six launch slips. There is also a restroom and fish cleaning station available. A permit is required to park in the lot with a trailer, to use the launch ramp, or to use the fish cleaning station.

Annual Permit Fees
- Non-Resident – $40
- City of Montague Resident – $30
- City of Montague Senior Resident (Age 62 & older) – $25
Rules & Policies
- Permit stickers MUST BE affixed to windshield or a ticket will be issued.
- NO DAILY PERMITS
- Valid from January 1st to December 31st of each year.
- Annual permits are required to park in the lot with a trailer, to use the launch ramp, or to use the fish cleaning station.
- Permits are required throughout the year for entry, regardless of season or availability of amenities.
- The City will not waive or reduce fees for any individual, entity, or organization regardless of intent or purpose of using the ramp.
Where to Purchase Permits
Annual Permits (Non-Resident)
Non-Resident Annual Permits are $40, and can be purchased at the launch ramp by using the kiosk with a credit card. A receipt and annual permit sticker will be dispensed upon payment.
Annual Permits (Resident)
Resident permits can be purchased at Montague City Hall.
Unsure if you are a City resident? The City of Montague is delineated as south of Eilers Road and east of Whitbeck Road, to the edge of White Lake. Click here to see a map of the City area. For purposes of receiving a residential rate, the purchaser must be an individual with a permanent residential address within the City of Montague; or is the owner and taxpayer of record for a parcel in the City of Montague (commercial building, boat slip owner, etc.). The City will verify residency.
Replacement Sticker / New Vehicle
The purchaser of an annual permit sticker may be issued a new sticker if the original vehicle is no longer operable or in use by the owner. The City shall not issue a new sticker without the original sticker submitted to City staff for replacement. In cases of an accident or windshield replacement, a photo may be submitted. If owner sells vehicle, then proof of sale / transfer of ownership may be utilized to receive a replacement sticker.

Want to use the Boat Launch for a Fishing Tournament?
All fishing tournaments are required to register with the City of Montague to utilize the boat launch facilities for a tournament. Registration must occur prior to the event.
