The State Park Bicycle Trail crosses the White River and has a viewing area of the wetlands for birdwatchers and nature lovers.
The annual “Cruz’in” parade and antique car display takes place on the last Friday in July. The parade of cars will start in Whitehall and proceed over the causeway to Montague and will line up on Ferry Street for viewing after. There will be food vendors and music during the viewing period. Parade starts at 7:00 pm so get here early! Last year parade watchers saw over 400 antique cars and trucks!
Fruitland Township’s annual Blueberry Festival will start with a pancake breakfast (blueberry of course!) followed by an arts & crafts show, children’s activities and free trolley rides to the White River Light Station. The annual Montague “Pumpkinfest” will be held on the second Saturday in October with 9:30 am registration for the pumpkin roll. The famous Pumpkin Roll down the Dowling St. hill plus many pumpkin events, (largest pumpkin, pumpkin painting, seed spitting, pumpkin carving and pumpkin bowling) will take place with fun for the whole family.
